Busy Busy Busy in Mwanza

 Where has Kay been???
Things were pretty crazy around Mwanza last Fall/Winter with intermittent electricity and water, snakes and immigration issues, to name a few!  Since my last post, I've been to the USA and back to Mwanza!  God is always faithful and He provided me with a great rest--lots of cold weather, hot water, electricity and no snakes!

It was a great time with family and friends, especially seeing my nephews who are SO big now!  As pictured, big boys like Christmas storybooks, too!  Reading them one from their dad's and my childhood! Scratch and sniff!

The bad weather held off long enough for us to travel to Tennessee to be with my mother's family for Christmas Day, too! Below is Me, Aunt Sue, Mom and Aunt Ruth on Mom's birthday on December 26th.

I also had a great time speaking to various groups in Louisiana, including the First West Women on Mission, Winnsboro's Methodist Women's Union and three combined groups at my home church, First West. Loved being given the opportunity to thank everyone for their continuing prayers and financial support!  Would not be here in Mwanza discipling these kids and ladies without it! That is for sure!  Love ya'll!  And miss ya'll, too!  Come see us!
"I always thank my God when I mention you in my prayers because I hear about your faithfulness to the Lord Jesus and your love for all of God’s people. As you share the faith you have in common with others, I pray that you may come to have a complete knowledge of every blessing we have in Christ. Your love for God’s people gives me a lot of joy and encouragement."

Back Home to Spring in Mwanza!
So what is Mwanza like in the Spring?  Rainy and cool and hot and humid!  Sometimes all in the same day!  It is the rainy season here and that makes for beautiful green everywhere! During Spring Break I did some English Conversation tutoring with the kids--that was an adventure!  I have some materials using the Book of Mark from the Bible to teach English and they enjoyed it!
Teaching English conversation with the Book of Mark
I have resumed my weekly schedule: small groups for the kids five days a week, Ladies Bible Study on Wednesdays, Backyard Bible Club (BBC) on Saturdays and Children's Church on Sundays.  Small groups are the most intense and the most fun!  We pray for each other, for you, our church and neighbors, sing, have a Bible lesson and a little snack.  I have begun a new class on English Conversation on Saturday mornings for some of our kids attending a private school who need more work on their English skills.  So Saturday is my busiest day of the week with tutoring, small group and BBC! And it makes for a busy week but I wouldn't have it any other way! Please pray for me as I prepare lessons and teach every week!

Great News!  Land for New Church Purchased!!
Last month we received the funds to purchase land to build a new church!  We got the land at 60% off of the estimate and it comes with a parsonage (in need of repair!)  and another house (in need of repair) that a family caring for one of our orphans can live in!  We are waiting on the government to allow the church to be built since it is in a residential area and hope that construction will begin soon!  Who likes to build?  Well, come on out and help us build it!  Seriously!
Plot for new church
Please Pray About...
Work Permit: I STILL don't have my residence/work permit after applying 9 months ago! God keeps showing me through His Word that He is in charge and He is working on it--so I'm just supposed to wait!  That is hard when I just want to take things into my own hands.  I have 3 weeks until my temporary visa expires again and I'm not sure what step I need to take next! What kind of temporary one or contact someone to get the actual one? So, please pray  that I would be patient and that God would show me exactly what to do!
House #2 on left; small but quiet with great view

House & Car: I have only two more months in this furnished rent house and need to find another by the middle of June!  I have looked at three houses and two are in the running; one is spacious, secure, well-built and great for ministry, near our new church in our neighborhood.  I don't know yet if it is affordable or if it is peaceful enough for the rest I need to be able to be effective here--backs up to a high hill full of houses looking down into the yard so I might end up living my own reality show for the neighbors! It also requires all the furnishings which willbe expensive.
The other is high on a hill overlooking the lake in a more quiet area nearby our neighborhood.  But it is quite small and needs work--the kitchen is about the size of a bathroom and I don't think that can be fixed--but they can put glass on the screen-only windows! It is furnished, though, so I would be able to use what I need and slowing get my own things.  I have been cautioned that rent houses go quickly so I need to make a decision soon!  I am willing to try either one for 6 months to a year if the price is right.  But waiting on the Lord (and some answers about the work permit) to decide what steps to take next!  When I leave this current house, I will also leave the car I am driving behind, so I need to purchase a new vehicle.  I am pretty sure I need the work permit to buy it but I also need FUNDS!  So please pray that God would touch hearts and that people would give!  Is He prompting you to give?

My First Mission Team! A group of ladies from my home church, First West, are very interested in coming on a mission trip!  Yet another reason why I need a house and a vehicle!  Our kids get a break the first week in September, so hope to come to do VBS,  local evangelism and work with the caregivers.  There are 3-4 ladies considering coming, a great group for my first mission team in Mwanza!  Please pray for these ladies, for the church and for me as we all work out all the details of this trip!

Finances:  I am continuing to seek financial partners for my ministry! From reading, you can see that I have many expenses coming up:  house, car, furnishings, plus my daily living and ministry expenses.  Please pray about how you can partner with me to Transform Tanzania!! All donations go through First Baptist Church of West Monroe, are tax-deductible.  Please follow these instructions carefully: Make your check out to "First West" and write "Transform Tanzania" on the memo line, not my name. Drop it by the church office, put it in the offering plate or mail it to First West Business Office, 500 Pine St. West Monroe, LA 71291. Automatic withdrawal/Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) is available, also.  Please email me at kayintz@yahoo.com for more information about donating, becoming a financial partner, or if you have any questions!

Know that when you give, you are just as much a part of my ministry as I am!  Without you, I would not be here and God's work would not continue through me here! May God bless you and your family abundantly for your sacrificial gift for His work to widows, orphans and vulnerable children here in Mwanza, Tanzania!
Love, Kay and the Kids!
